Bad Weather In Inverness


Yesterday, June 23, 2009, we had a bad storm come through the area. Heavy rain, hail the size of mothballs, and some wind. Around 2pm EST, a huge gust came through the little slice of heaven that we live in: some say it was a tornado, some say it was a straight-line wind. Whatever it was, the estimates are that it was clocked at 100mph (160kph) - and it did a LOT of damage in the park. We had a couple of limbs come down from our trees, and one of the planters was knocked over, but no other damage - certainly nothing major. Others were not so lucky...
